There will be a regular meeting of the Calumet Village Council, Tuesday, March 24, 2020 at 5:30 PM.
The meeting will be held in accordance with Governor Whitmer's recent executive order that allows local governments to conduct essential meetings virtually through April 15, 2020 due to public safety concerns related to the COVID 19 virus. The meeting will be held virtually via gotomeeting. There will be no one at the Village Hall. As always, the public is welcome and encouraged to attend electronically. A public hearing on the FY 2021 proposed budget will be held at 5:30 PM on February 24, 2020, at the Calumet Village Hall, 340 Sixth Street, Calumet, Michigan 49913. A copy of the budget is available for public inspection at the Village Hall. The property tax millage rate proposed to be levied to support the proposed budget will be a subject of this hearing. On Tuesday, February 18, 2020, The Calumet Village Council voted to repeal the Adult Use Marihuana Facilities Ordinance No. 153 and the Medical Marihuana Facilities Ordinance No. 152 by way of Ordinance No. 155.

The Village of Calumet will hold an information meeting on November 19, 2019 at 5:30 p.m. or shortly thereafter, as part of the Regular Village Council Meeting in order to inform the general public about applications made by the Village to USDA Rural Development for grant funding to purchase snow removal equipment. This meeting will give village residents an opportunity to become acquainted with the proposed project and to provide comments. Copies of the applications are available for public review at the Village office Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m.
